An Interview With: Glasgow's Category Is Books

Posted: Wednesday 27 February 2019

We know that there are loads of brilliant local businesses surrounding our venues, so we thought we’d put the spotlight on some of our favourites. Here’s an interview with Charlotte and Fi, who run Glasgow bookshop, Category Is Books.

What’s the best book about music?

Heavy Vinyl! It's a graphic novel by Carly Usdin, about a group of teen queers working in a local record shop and it’s incredible!

What’s your favourite thing about the Southside?

The food! There's just so many places to pick from. Our favourites are Ranjit's Kitchen or anywhere with late night desserts.

Who’s the best LGBTQIA artist you’ve seen in concert?

SASHA VELOUR <3 <3 <3 or Vander Van Odd. In fact, when Sasha Velour and Vander Van Odd are on stage together it's basically all of our dreams come true.

What’s your favourite Ru Paul’s Drag Race season and why?

Season 4, because it was the first time we had seen a queen, (Sharon), say no to pageant beauty and it was very empowering to watch.

Can you tell us about your dog, because she’s cute AF.

She is called Moo and she's a sassy greyhound who likes to snooze and take over our bed.
