Nina Nesbitt

The Scottish songstress has truly come into her own recently, with the release of singles ‘The Moments I’m Missing’ and ‘Somebody Special’ unveiling a smoother, sultry pop sound and a new aesthetic to go with it. Having been honoured with the Evolution Award at the Scottish Music Awards in December, it would seem the change has been welcomed with open arms. Plus, with a new album in the works, it looks like the next few months are going to be life-affirming for the singer, who’s worked tirelessly to remain true to herself and her musical ambitions.

Lewis Capaldi

You’re going to be hearing a lot about Lewis Capaldi this year, but as soon as you listen to his voice, you’ll understand why. As highlighted in our previous New Music Blog, Lewis has a knack for penning songs with a direct line to your heart strings. His single ‘Bruises’ has amassed over 38,000,000 streams on Spotify and his debut EP Bloom saw him make a name for himself as talented balladeer, seeking acclaim from the BBC Sound Of 2018. Selling out his live shows months in advance, Lewis has become one of the most sought-after artists with only four songs to his name, so you bet he’ll be everywhere by the time the year is out.

The Xcerts

Launching into 2018 with brand new album, Hold On To Your Heart, The Xcerts are no longer a little band from Aberdeen and are now fully-fledged rockstars. With this, their fourth album, they’ve infused iconic 80s inspirations with perfectly composed riffs that reek of Springsteen and heartache. Their live shows are always unforgettable, with a charismatic stage presence and a sense of togetherness; you leave that venue feeling like their friends, not just their fans. The Xcerts are a very special band and should be high up on must-see lists for 2018.
