New Music Blog: Will Heard

Posted: Monday 11 December 2017

With so many huge acts in and out of our doors, it’s easy to forget those that are out there, tirelessly working their way up to the top who deserve your attention. This week, we’re putting the spotlight on soul-inspired singer-songwriter, Will Heard.

Known for a uniquely soulful touch embedded within his music, it is no surprise to see that the London-based songwriter/multi-instrumentalist, Will Heard is quickly claiming his spot as a leader in the evolution of what defines a singer-songwriter. Attributing his diverse range of influences to the likes of Eric Clapton and Nina Simone, Will provides a funky take on musical storytelling.

Having moved to London in 2011 to further pursue music, he was quickly recognised by critics alike for his undeniably beautiful voice and an uncanny ability to tell stories far beyond his years. Beginning his rise to stardom with his vocal feature on the Klangkarussell track ‘Sonnentanz’, Will has been working diligently to prove himself since, gaining further adoration from fans by tagging up with supermodel friend Cara Delevigne to do a well-received acoustic rendition of the track.

Following a feature on the Kygo produced ‘Nothing Left’, as well as the Rudimental hit ‘I Will For Love’, Will's moving vocals showcase his ability to cover a wide variety of compositions. As well as providing his voice on a number of hits, you'll find his name behind the writing credits for many loved pop artists, including Jess Glynne, MNEK and Elli Ingram to name a few, but having built up his name as a songwriter, it's time to step out on his own and let his own music do the talking.

2017 has undoubtedly been his biggest yet, creating a buzz with the release of his twist on Missy Elliott’s ‘Beep Me’, supporting Justin Bieber in the UK and selling out his headline London shows in a matter of hours; all huge moments in his still-early career. Now with his debut EP Trust and a full headline tour booked in the spring, it looks like 2018 is going to be the year you don’t stop hearing his name.
