Avril Lavigne

Avril Lavigne first burst onto the scene with teen-angst anthem, ‘Complicated’ and she very quickly became the new queen of alternative pop music. Guitar heavy and with bundles of attitude, she sat comfortably within both the rock and pop worlds and her debut album, Let Go, went on to become 6x platinum in the UK. Now, after six years, she’s returned with new album, Head Above Water, and her first UK shows for some time, so get ready, because the mother f***in princess is well and truly back.

Yungblud has become one of 2019’s most unstoppable acts, selling out venues worldwide, dominating festival stages and causing chaos on the streets of London with his surprise appearances. The young punk has been charging forward since the release of his debut album, 21st Century Liability, last year, and it doesn’t look like things are going to slow down anytime soon. Shouting in the faces of anyone that dares to frown upon the younger generations, he’s a loud-mouthed voice of the people and he’s only going to be making more noise in the year to come.

Bowling For Soup

Pop-punk veterans, Bowling For Soup, are returning to their home away from home once more, except this time, they’re bringing some close friends along for the ride. Having recently celebrated their 25th anniversary as a band, Bowling For Soup wanted to make sure this tour was a party, which meant there was only one band for the job. Canadian heroes, Simple Plan, will be hopping across the Atlantic to join them for what could be the pop-punk tour of the year, with rising rockers, Not Ur Girlfrenz, completing the package. Plus, the tour falls on and around Valentine’s Day, so if you’re stuck for date ideas, we can guarantee this’ll be one you won’t ever forget.

We’re still struggling to believe that Silverstein are celebrating 20 years together, but here we are, about to welcome them over for a very special set of anniversary shows. The Canadian heavyweights were one of the pioneers of the 00s' emo movement, with their breakthrough second album, Discovering The Waterfront, carving the path for others to follow. Playing the record in full this February, alongside a set full of their most-loved hits and a rare acoustic performance, this is going to be an opportunity to see one of emo’s most important bands at their most intimate, personal best.

Plain White T's

There was a time in 2006 where one song was king, and that song was ‘Hey There Delilah’ by Plain White T’s. The song earned them two GRAMMY nominations and exploded them into the mainstream, with the band enjoying years of international touring and a further five albums filled with emo-pop anthems. After making their Slam Dunk Festival debut earlier this year, the band re-kindled their taste for the UK and off the back of latest album, Parallel Universe, have decided to make their way back for a handful of shows in the spring.

Despite only officially launching as a band last year, The Faim have already racked up more tours in the past 18 months than some bands achieve in five years. Emo music has come in all shapes and forms over the years, from the gut-wrenching screams of post-hardcore bands to the dreamy, indie-alternative take on the genre, and the latter is where Virginia Beach trio, Turnover, slot in. Having been on their own journey over the course of their four albums, they’ve grown with each release and introduced new elements to shape their sound into what we hear on Altogether, their most collaborative and connected work to date.

More of a pop-punk lover? Then try Waterparks on for size. The Texan trio have a knack for writing bops that worm their way into your brain and stick forever, leaving you singing the words in your sleep and trying to dye your hair to match Awsten’s ever-changing barnet. Third album, Fandom, their first on Hopeless Records, saw the band take their electronic influences up a notch and deliver an abundance of tongue-in-cheek choruses that are undeniably catchy. If you’re all about having a fun time, then Waterparks are the band for you.

Memphis May Fire

It’s been three years since American metalcore band Memphis May Fire pounded our skulls with their obliterating live show, but finally, they’re back. Their 2018 album, Broken, saw them step up into the elite of the heavy music world, playing upon their strengths of writing brutal breakdowns with impactful melodies, to create some of their most unapologetic songs to date. Showcasing the newer material on their upcoming live dates, you’ll quickly forgive them for being MIA once you feel their presence bearing down on you.

I Prevail

If there’s one band that knows the definition of hard work, it’s I Prevail. The Michigan metalcore band have grafted for five years and by the looks of things, it’s all starting to pay off. After charging into the scene in 2016 with their ferocious debut, Lifelines, they became one of the biggest selling hard rock bands of the decade, following it up with their phenomenal sophomore record, Trauma, earlier this year. Despite a vocal injury from Brian Burkheiser (clean vocals) that nearly ended his career, they’ve powered through and delivered one of the most eye-opening and honest albums of the year, and now you get to see it live.

The Maine

The Maine do things differently. Whether it be their music, their merch or their live shows, they always strive to deliver something new and exciting, and with seventh album, You Are OK, they’ve done exactly that. Pushing themselves sonically and creatively, the final outcome is a thing of beauty. Although the new material still has old-school emo undertones to it, there’s now synth melodies, huge pop choruses and just a hint of rock and roll swagger. So, whether you’re a part of their 8123 community or not, make sure you don’t miss The Maine when they bring their immersive album tour to our shores.

If you thought red eyeshadow and eyeliner died when My Chemical Romance went on hiatus, then you’re wrong, because Palaye Royale have been keeping the look alive, and rocking it, for the past few years. The self-coined fashion-rock band have pulled from the emo archives to deliver a sound that fuses the theatrics of Panic! At The Disco with the grittiness of punk’s early icons and their legion of fans is evidence enough that this is a band making huge moves. Heading into a new chapter with recent singles, ‘Nervous Breakdown’ and ‘Hang On To Yourself’, you might just be looking at the future kings of emo.
