Your May 2019 Bank Holiday Gig Guide

Posted: Monday 20 May 2019

This weekend is our last Bank Holiday until August, so make the most of it! If you’re stuck for things to do, don’t worry, here’s some suggestions of ways to fill your three-day weekend.

Whether you’re an old-school punk lover, or a pop-rock bopper, Slam Dunk Festival has got eight stages stretched across their two sites, (one in Leeds, the other in Hatfield), which cater to all alternative music tastes. All Time Low, NOFX, Bullet For My Valentine, Glassjaw and The Menzingers are just some of the headliners at this year’s event, with Hellogoodbye, Neck Deep, The Bronx, New Found Glory, Atreyu and many more filling up the day.

If, after the festival finishes, you’re still desperate for more, then head along to the Official Slam Dunk South After Party at O2 Academy Islington on Sunday 26 May for a night of special guest DJs and the biggest rock anthems.

Taking over three cities, (Manchester, Bristol and Nottingham) this Bank Holiday weekend is Dot To Dot. With a whole host of acts playing venues across the cities, including Crystal Fighters, Swim Deep, The Night Café, King No-One, Alex Lahey and SO many more, it’s the perfect opportunity to see some of the rising stars of the indie scene.

If you’re not able to go to Slam Dunk but still want to get your hardcore fix, then have no fear, as Knocked Loose will be headlining their own show before they take to the festival stages. Providing you with plenty of breakdowns to kick start your long weekend, you can enjoy the ferocity of new EP, Mistakes Like Fractures, whilst working your limbs in the pit.
